2012 Hakka Jokes Contest (20120128)

Our January 2012 Hakka Toastmasters Meeting is dedicated for our Annual Hakka Jokes Contest - as we thought it is a great practice for us to use our mother tongue to tell the funny stories.  This year is our continuously 7th year for this contest.  1/28/2012 is still in Lunar New Year celebration for many friends.  Some members are still in Taiwan, some have their own family gatherings or community events... We have a rarely small group for this gathering and Potlucks party.  Yet, we still follow our game rule and the discipline to have this contest gone officially and happily as usual.  This year we have our new Big Yam Award Winner - Mr. Mu-Lien Lai, and the Second Place goes to Mrs. Huang  Wen Wen-Tze. (The two seniors are really withing a very small margin in scores...they are amazing!) Ms. Alpha Liu wins the Third Place., and Thomas Shu is the second to the Last Place.  Please enjoy the video slides by Brother Shih-Hung.

The following Hakka 3 Line Poems were presented by our member James Leu on 1/27, the eve before this year's contest.  Mr. Leu is recovering from his battle with cancer disease, and lucky that Mrs. Leu can accompany him with best support.

2012 Rose Parade

The 2012 Rose Parade is on!
Maybe, just like me, you totally can't take that "China Airline" still has not been changed to be "Air Taiwan". (actually, every penny of this airline is Taiwanese' tax dollars...)
Also, this year the Parade is unusually set on Monday, 1/2/2012.
For those who can't make it to see the parade or from TV...please enjoy the following nice taken photos, great job done by our brother Shih-Hung Lo. (His house is right there near the Victoria Park and he got free ticket to watch the floats on site...how lucky.)
