2.28 - 72nd Commemorative Concert (promotion series)
Dear friends:
" 2.28 Commemorative Concert " for our SoCal community is what Josephine and I have dedicated with a group of good friends in TaiwanEliteAlliance.blogspot.com to organize and produce, and we are very grateful to the Board of TUFUSA.org continuously support on this annual Concert event.
We share the same commitment -
'Let us not forget the 2.28 lesson from the history, and never have it happened again in our homeland, or any place.'
*We insist to have this Commemorative Concert always on the very day of 2.28, no matter it is a weekday or weekend.
*We insist to have all audience to be fully involved in each program, so we provide both English and Hanji subtitles on the big screen.
*We believe in "On Time" habit - so 7:30pm to start and ends on 9pm sharp.
*Even you can only participate for 10 minutes or 20, still make it to the concert and show your support. Bring your family and friends, co-workers and neighbors to enjoy good musics and performances from our community musicians and choirs... You will be coming back, again and again, that is guaranteed with high standard production.
*Our neighbors and our tea friends have supported us on this one. Salvador Sosa, my tea brother, was invited to this concert in 2017, and this year he will get on stage to share with all about his visit to Taipei 2.28 Park in October 2018.

2018 L.A. River CleanUp (4/28/2018)
Promotion of 2018 River CleanUp in our TA community, and all over the social media -
It was a beautiful day, perfect weather, perfect turn out, perfect participants!! Love you guys!! TAs rock!! Thanks to Warner’s assistance in taking 88-year Old Mr. and Mrs. Lai to be there!! And wonderful photos!! Thanks to Team Taiwan Dragon Boat members, TAP-LA friends, TUF Board Members, and also many TA friends step out to support this year's CleanUp.

明朗清爽有太陽的早晨！來清河的人潮不少！台美人更不落人後！
After a few hours hard work, all volunteers gathered in front of TEAM TAIWAN booth, to have some snacks and we have a fun Raffle going on... Besides the Taiwan T-Shirs and Hats, plus the Gourmet teas donated by Taiwan Elite Alliance. (*Special thanks to Peter / Stephanie donate two big Lama stuff toys and make very happy winners.)

2.28-71 Commemorative Concert
This year we have a few things to talk about:
Rev. Thomas Chen finally can make his availability for us. And, all audience understand why we want his prayer at this special gathering. (For those not able to participate, please see the video link https://youtu.be/Eb2hY7o0s38 and you will appreciate his heart-felt prayer as much as we do.)

It is Wednesday evening and quite cold... but we appreciate so many friends are there to support this event. Many are surprised to see younger TA in the audience. We believe the extra effort to provide
English / Hanji subtitles on big screen also in our program books are well worth it.

Taiwanese Opera Troupe presents 'Koeh Hoai-it 郭懷一' @ San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on 9/9/2017
When The World Met Taiwan "Koeh Hoâi-it" is a Broadway-style Taiwanese Opera that tells
the story of a historical turning point of different ethnic groups in
Taiwan and their interlinked struggle for the recognition of the land
and the hope of survival.
A group of young dramatists from Taiwan interpret the outbreak of the story.
The opera is performed in Taiwanese, with English and Hanji subtitles. Drama is without borders, performing arts are how people of different cultural backgrounds get to know and accept one another.
Through Taiwan opera’s interpretation of the history, we strive to bring Taiwan to the world stage out of the memory of her colonial past and long for a harmonious future among all cultures.

2017 Los Angeles Global Taiwan Hakka Culture Conference
This is the first time, HAC has moved the Conference venue of Global Taiwan Hakka Culture Conference from inside Taiwan to overseas. Los Angeles has been so honored to be selected as the first stop. We are very excited to get this one done, and in classic way.
It takes great team efforts to put together a big event like this. Taiwan Elite Alliance has been invited to design the Theme (*Global starts from Local / 在地公民參與 ) and also help coordinate the Panel Discussion Programs. To host 500+ people in a Hotel for 3 days event actually requires many details covered. Our Prep Meetings almost weekly after July the 4th long weekend. Salute to all these volunteers.
We have a special Taiwan Hakka Youth Group to be invited to participate the whole programs. 11 High School Girls (*They are selected by fair rules and no boy got picked... ) here to show their talents and most importantly, their fluent Hakka mother tongue in conversation.
They have impressed many Hakka friends during the event hours. At the closing Ceremony on 8/6/2017, they have shared what they thought about this Conference. Please click on the Link (*on the video session 12:00 - 21:50)
