2019 L.A. River CleanUp (4.27.2019)

Two thumbs up for my friend, Shelly Perry Backlar，Friends of LA River, all volunteers, and Taiwan Elite Alliance, Taiwanese United Fund for this great project! So many have turned out. Shelly , you are a great leader with devotion....so happy to see you today! I am extremely touched to see groups of students, parents with young kids, dedicated citizens spreading out to Clean this beautiful river! Few 1st timers shared their feelings and told me how much they’ve enjoyed this good cause! I think The most important concept of this is to make us “rethink” while using/buying/trashing ..!!

一年一度的清河圓滿落幕！感動很多年輕父母帶著孩子一起來。這個活動的主要目的是要提醒大家寔際寔踐環保。你家平日還在買瓶裝水嗎？去超市時是不是不必一直拿塑膠袋？我感受到目前外賣食品的包裝是一大問題⋯⋯加油，朋友們，使用物資時，請，「想」一下，能省則省，一張紙、一個塑膠袋、一根筷子，都會積少成多的！

 It is always fun to gather up all volunteers at the end of our River CleamUp...and having some IMEI’s wafers and join the raffle. (Thanks to Peter and Stephanie donate the Toys, JT & Tea donates the tea and gifts...) We are a Big Family and River is the Mother of our City!

Thank you all and look forward to seeing everyone again in 2020.

2.28 - 72nd Commemorative Concert (promotion series)

Dear friends:
" 2.28 Commemorative Concert " for our SoCal community is what Josephine and I have dedicated with a group of good friends in TaiwanEliteAlliance.blogspot.com to organize and produce, and we are very grateful to the Board of TUFUSA.org continuously support on this annual Concert event.
We share the same commitment -
'Let us not forget the 2.28 lesson from the history, and never have it happened again in our homeland, or any place.'
*We insist to have this Commemorative Concert always on the very day of 2.28, no matter it is a weekday or weekend.
*We insist to have all audience to be fully involved in each program, so we provide both English and Hanji subtitles on the big screen.
*We believe in "On Time" habit - so 7:30pm to start and ends on 9pm sharp.
*Even you can only participate for 10 minutes or 20, still make it to the concert and show your support. Bring your family and friends, co-workers and neighbors to enjoy good musics and performances from our community musicians and choirs... You will be coming back, again and again, that is guaranteed with high standard production.
*Our neighbors and our tea friends have supported us on this one. Salvador Sosa, my tea brother, was invited to this concert in 2017, and this year he will get on stage to share with all about his visit to Taipei 2.28 Park in October 2018.

2018 L.A. River CleanUp (4/28/2018)

Promotion of 2018 River CleanUp in our TA community, and all over the social media -

It was a beautiful day, perfect weather, perfect turn out, perfect participants!! Love you guys!! TAs rock!! Thanks to Warner’s assistance in taking 88-year Old Mr. and Mrs. Lai to be there!! And wonderful photos!!  Thanks to Team Taiwan Dragon Boat members, TAP-LA friends, TUF Board Members, and also many TA friends step out to support this year's CleanUp.

明朗清爽有太陽的早晨！來清河的人潮不少！台美人更不落人後！

After a few hours hard work, all volunteers gathered in front of TEAM TAIWAN booth, to have some snacks and we have a fun Raffle going on... Besides the Taiwan T-Shirs and Hats, plus the Gourmet teas donated by Taiwan Elite Alliance.  (*Special thanks to Peter / Stephanie donate two big Lama stuff toys and make very happy winners.)
